Last August, I was commissioned to do some work for a house out in Colorado Springs. A very good friend, by the name of Carrie Worthington (owner of the home), approached me about my paintings and asked if I was willing to do some work for her. It was a wonderful and unexpected surprise, and I am very grateful for this opportunity and happy to announce that I accepted. She flew me out to see the space in the middle of November,it was also my first time seeing Colorado. I immediately felt at home, with her hospitality and everything that Colorado had to offer, I already had ideas to get started. Her home is beautiful and the space that is reserved for my work is outstanding. It is a long white hallway, about forty feet long and ceilings that are 18 feet high. There is gallery lighting down the center of the hallway, just waiting for the opportunity to keep a beautiful painting warm. Industrial, yet cozy, Carrie’s place screamed city meets island.

Overlooking downtown, her patio was a great place to drink wine and talk about our visions for the space. We decided on ten pieces: 6 canvases and 4 photographs. She wants to keep my unique, abstract style and have colors, forms, and shapes represent her, her life, and all of her loves and struggles.

The first piece that I chose to do incorporates warm colors that usually suggest a sunset, yet it represents her in her environment. She is a strong, independent woman maintaining a successful life and constantly is able to breathe and sit still above the chaos that, sometimes, happens in her life. She can keep everything in order and find a way for all the outlets to stay connected.

I have finally received my computer and have been trying to learn as fast as I can, so I can get going on this website. It’s January on the Island, which means time has been handed to those of us who have chosen to live here. The holidays are finally over and I can get started on the projects that I have wanted to share with everyone. I have been working on a few different projects. One being a beautiful commissioned project out in Colorado Springs consisting of ten pieces. Another is a great sketchbook section for you to see other pieces I am working on and the last would be a student section, spotlighting the kids that I teach private art lessons to throughout the winter. (It’s really just for fun and to put smiles on your faces.)
